- Plan and prepare for lime production operation
- Access, interpret and apply lime products processing documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Select, and check for faults, equipment/tools for work activities
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the activity
- Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Carry out routine safety checks and equipment pre-start checks
- Operate crushed limestone feed systems
- Start-up feed systems in sequence using Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Monitor feeder plant and equipment and identify, address and/or report faults and malfunctions using DCS
- Interpret and respond to alarms and indicators using DCS
- Monitor and adjust feed rates to meet processing requirements using DCS
- Observe safety procedures when working around feeder plant and equipment
- Perform feeder shutdown procedures and/or isolate equipment in sequence using DCS
- Return limestone feed system to service
- Conduct lime kiln operations
- Operate, monitor and adjust kiln processing systems and media using DCS
- Monitor performance of burners using DCS and adjust and/or replace burner components
- Operate and adjust discharge tables to meet production requirements
- Monitor and maintain discharged limestone temperature to within specified parameters using DCS
- Observe safety procedures for entering hot kilns
- Monitor and control discharge of burnt lime to slaking plant storage
- Monitor and control burnt lime conveyor/flow system for clear flow and delivery of burnt lime using DCS
- Monitor and control the temperature of burnt lime to ensure it does not exceed maximum allowable temperature using DCS
- Interpret and respond to alarms and indicators
- Monitor and control crushing plant
- Monitor and control input and discharge of silos
- Monitor and control dust extraction plant and equipment to maintain a safe atmosphere and minimise product loss
- Observe safety procedures when working with burnt limestone
- Monitor and control milk of lime plant
- Monitor and control the process stream through the milk of lime plant
- Interpret and respond to alarms and indicators
- Control slaking plant operation
- Monitor and adjust milk of lime density to meet specification
- Monitor and control pumping of milk of lime
- Observe safety procedures when working with radiation devices
